So I finally bought a Roland TR-808 drum machine.
The TR-808 is got was modified by Robin Whittle , the same guy who does the devilfish mods on the tb303. Some of the mods such as the trigger in may not be by Robin.
You can see the 808 and its mods below. I look forward to adding this drum machine to my setup and making some new tracks with it.

nice one, shame its looking a bit tatty, but then again you dont listen to the looks. Must say the 808 is one of my favorites, will never part with mine.
yeah it looks a bit tatty but does sound fine – the trick to this one is to keep the levels low and the noise mod down – is sounding better and better the more i play it
